Individual Therapy
My own mental health journey through anxiety and people-pleasing—and my experiences in therapy—led me to specialize in supporting others who feel anxious, stuck, and hard on themselves. My style is compassionate and warm with a focus on addressing the issues bringing you into therapy. I recognize it takes time to develop trust with me before diving into deeper issues.
I work with:
family of origin trauma
anxiety
people-pleasing
communicating about your needs with loved ones
identifying when to compromise and when (and how!) to set boundaries
feeling our feelings
self-soothing when we’re not in control
accepting and adjusting to what is out of our control
queerness
political distress
symptoms of anxiety that may not look like textbook anxiety, like disordered eating, numbing, skin-picking, perfectionism, constantly needing assurance, persistent irritability, and avoidance
I help clients understand how their constellation of symptoms are ways of coping with their feelings. For better or worse, we all attempt to care for ourselves, and some ways are deeply engrained even when they’re no longer helpful for us. In therapy, I support clients to clarify underlying feelings and try new ways of soothing anxiety.
Couples/Relationship Therapy
I work with partners to to deepen their connection. I utilize EFT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, a research-based technique shown to increase connection and satisfaction in relationships, even years after concluding therapy.
I am a white, queer, cis woman and love to support fellow LGBTQIA+ folks.
Therapy can help you make change so that you can relate differently to yourself and your loved ones. Research shows that about 80% of the potential benefit of therapy is based on your feeling that you connect with your therapist. As a social worker and therapist, I have a relational approach. I bring kindness and authenticity in order to build a trusting and safe relationship. If what you read here resonates, feel free to reach out to see if we might be a good fit.
